Welcome Back!!!

Hello and welcome from PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) to another great year here at Cram Elementary! My name is Jennifer Janiskee and I will be the PTSA President for the 2007-2008 school year. This is my second year as President of PTSA and I am looking forward to serving again. I am a mother of three girls. My youngest will be starting Kindergarten this year. I have been a “Cram Mom” since 2002 and have loved having my children attend Cram Elementary. Joining PTSA helped me to get to know other parents and also helped me to stay involved in the education of my children. We all work together in PTSA and the results can be seen in our children. Our campus is full of students who are excited to be here and ready to learn. This is because the parents, teachers, administrators, and students have worked to make Cram one of the best elementary schools in the district.

There is so much to be done to continue our tradition of excellence and we need you, our parents, to help us make this the best school year ever! It is no coincidence that the first letter in PTSA stands for parents! The parents here at Cram are among the most active and caring that I have ever met. This is why I know we can count on you to join the PTSA and support our terrific school and its teachers. Parent involvement in a child’s education greatly improves their performance in school. It is a fact! When we work together you can see the outcome in our children. Last year PTSA provided Smart Boards, new computers, printers, accelerated reader books, field trip scholarships, school supplies for each classroom, and school assemblies. PTSA has even MORE in store for Cram Elementary this year.

I am asking that every family here at Cram join our PTSA. Your membership helps us achieve so much. We need your membership to continue to make improvements in our school. But parent involvement is more than financial. Volunteers are needed throughout the year for numerous events so please consider helping out! I am creating a list of all parents (and family members!) who wish to volunteer. You do not need to take a position with PTSA or commit to the monthly meetings (although that would be great!).
